Get the Lead Out is a summertime waterway clean-up program focused on removing fishing debris from the Maumee River. Lead sinkers, hooks, lures, and tangled fishing line can entangle wildlife, harm humans, and erode our river’s natural beauty. That’s why we Get the Lead Out!

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring my child to a GLO program?
Because Get the Lead Out clean-ups always involve handling lead sinkers, hooks, lures, and tangled fishing line, we recommend this program for volunteers ages twelve and older. Remember that a parent or guardian must sign a liability waiver on behalf of children.
What should I wear?
